The Tiny Party - Little Lunch

As I was thinking up ideas for the tiny party, pretty little foods kept floating into my mind, so I decided to include a lunch as part of the festivities.

As much as I wanted to do super fancy foods, I knew that I had to keep things pretty tame if the 4, 5, and 6-year-olds in attendance were going to get enough food in them to count as 'lunch.'
Here is what I came up with:
To drink, I supplied both red and pink Koolaid, then served them in small clear pitchers and finished them with a polka-dot red or polka-dot pink ribbon. They looked adorable.

These are mini-croissant (about 3" long) sandwiches. I made three varieties of ham sandwiches, in hopes that I'd find a combo that worked for everyone. I finished them off with a frilly toothpick and served them on a white pedestal plate.

I also made teensy fruit kabobs. I chopped up cantaloupe, green grapes, bananas, strawberries, and apples into very small pieces, and threaded them onto toothpicks. Oh so cute!

My husband gets to take credit for this one: mini corn dogs! He bought cocktail wieners, skewered them on toothpicks, mixed up his own batter, and cooked them. They tasted really good, and not one was left at the end of the meal.

He even found this 2" tall jar of ketchup to go with them!
Also in this picture, you can see the super small carrot sticks I sliced up. They were practically julienned!

Once they had eaten up the croissants, mini corn dogs, fruit, and carrots, I brought out the desserts! Dainty scalloped-edged sugar cookies with light pink frosting, powdered mini donuts, and three kinds of mini cupcakes with sprinkles.

The birthday girl's verdict on lunch: thumb's up!
